Multi-talented Jon Goodchild was a vital force in presenting the 1960s and 70s British and American new art, music and rock culture to the world. Jon Goodchild was the seminal Art Director for London’s “Oz Magazine,” British “Rolling Stone,” San Francisco “Rolling Stone,” and Straight Arrow Books. He collaborated with many of the greatest photographic talents of his time, including Annie Leibovitz, Baron Wolman, Michael Zagaris and Robert Altman on photos of such icons as Mick Jagger, Bob Dylan and poet Allen Ginsberg. Join us for this talk associated with the Bolinas Museum exhibition EYE WITNESS TO A CULTURAL REVOLUTION:
featuring selections from Godchild’s impressive photography collection. His wife Leslie Acoca will share insights into the man and his remarkable collection. Leslie Acoca Goodchild, a Yale graduate, came to Bolinas in the 1970s where she helped found Full Circle School and Commonweal. She is recipient of the Dalai Lama’s Hero of Compassion and Stoneleigh Fellowship awards for her work creating healthcare for incarcerated girls.
