
It’s time to dust off the tie-dye, bell-bottoms and tinfoil hats. The theme of this year’s How Weird Street Faire, which takes over several blocks of Howard Street in San Francisco’s SoMa on Sunday, May 7, is Summer of Weird.
In addition to the usual assortment of characters, artists and street performers, there will be a 1967 twist to the massive outdoor street party. Organizers promise Summer of Love-inspired fashion shows, light displays and documentary footage to mark the social phenomenon’s 50th anniversary.
